For my MSc in Environmental Technology specialising in Environmental Economics and Policy, I went to Indonesia and investigated payments for ecosystem services as a tool to help curb slash and burn farming. I had a fantastic time and was treated really well by everyone. I have uploaded my thesis here as I think my thesis could be interesting for people who are interested in payments for ecosystem services, slash and burn farming in Indonesia, and/or how villagers in Indonesia make a living.

I once knocked up a Processor application for my Arduino. It hooked up to speakers and a (motion?) sensor and was meant to hide in a tree. It played birdsong but started playing chainsaw noises when it detected someone close by, with chainsaw noises getting louder the closer the person gets, and birdsong getting softer. This would reverse once they move further away from the tree/sensor, but if they moved too close all birdsong would cut off forever. Yes, it was meant to comment on human intrusion into nature and warn of tipping points.

Other things? I’m sure I have created other things I wanted to share, I just can’t think of them right now. Perhaps a few of my programs, though really they are a bit rubbish.
